Complete guide for creating a new account in InsureFlow Management System.


Overview

Create a new account to access the InsureFlow Management System. Registration is quick and secure, requiring only basic information.


Step-by-Step Process

1. Navigate to the Registration Page

  • Open your web browser
  • Visit the registration page at /register
  • You'll see the InsureFlow logo and "Create your account" heading
  • The page displays a clean registration form

2. Fill in Your Details

All fields are required to create your account.

Full Name

  • Enter your complete name
  • This will be displayed throughout the system
  • Examples:
    • "John Smith"
    • "Sarah Johnson"
    • "Michael van der Merwe"

Email Address

Password

  • Create a secure password
  • Minimum requirement: 8 characters
  • Recommendations for a strong password:
    • Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
    • Avoid common words or phrases
    • Don't use personal information (birthdate, name, etc.)
  • Examples of strong passwords:
    • "Secure@2024Pass"
    • "MyInsure#Flow123"

Confirm Password

  • Re-enter the exact same password
  • This ensures you typed your password correctly
  • Must match the password field exactly
  • Tip: Use copy-paste if needed, but remember your password

3. Review Your Information

Before submitting:

  • Double-check your email address is correct
  • Verify your name is spelled correctly
  • Ensure both password fields match

4. Submit Registration

  • Click the blue "Create account" button
  • The system will process your registration
  • Wait a moment while your account is created

5. Success Confirmation

After successful registration:

  • You'll see a green success message: "Registration successful!"
  • The system automatically redirects you to the login page
  • Automatic redirect: Happens after 3 seconds
  • Your account is now ready to use

6. First Login

  • You'll arrive at the login page
  • Enter your email and password
  • Click "Sign in" to access your dashboard

Minimum Requirements

  • Length: At least 8 characters
  • No maximum length limit

Security Best Practices

While not enforced, we recommend:

  • Using uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Including numbers
  • Adding special characters (@, #, $, %, etc.)
  • Avoiding dictionary words
  • Not reusing passwords from other sites

Weak passwords (avoid these):

  • "password"

Strong passwords (recommended):

  • "Insure@Flow2024!"

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

"Passwords do not match"

  • Problem: The two password fields contain different text
  • Solution:
    • Clear both password fields
    • Carefully type your password in the first field
    • Copy and paste or carefully retype in the confirm field
    • Ensure no extra spaces before or after

"Password must be at least 8 characters long"

  • Problem: Your password is too short
  • Solution:
    • Create a longer password
    • Add more characters until you reach at least 8
    • Consider using a passphrase for easy memorization

"Registration failed" or "An error occurred"

  • Possible causes:
    • Email address already in use
    • Network connection issue
    • System maintenance
  • Solutions:
    1. Check if you already have an account (try logging in)
    2. Verify your internet connection
    3. Try again in a few minutes
    4. Contact your system administrator

"Invalid email format"

  • Problem: Email address format is incorrect
